Why Running a Dog Kennel is the Ultimate Dream Job

Dog lovers everywhere can probably agree that the ultimate dream job includes being surrounded by cute, loving pups all day. But for most, that kind of job is wishful thinking.

Kennel for Dogs? How to Make it Easy for Pet Dogs…

It takes lots of hard work and dedication to succeed in a pet business, as well as lots of time and effort; it’s not for everyone. Bertha, one of the owners of Kamp K9 Hawaii LLC, never expected to open a kennel of her own, but after her dog got incredibly sick after a stay at a traditional facility, she did just that.

Going through such a traumatic experience has helped teach Bertha the value of providing the best care for the dogs she looks after. “So many families out here care a great deal about their dogs,” says Bertha. “We wanted them to feel reassured that when they leave their pups with us we will take extra, extra care of their fur-family members and they will be taken in like part of our ohana (family in Hawaiian).”

At Kamp K9 Hawaii, the most fulfilling part of each day is watching furry guests play and relax. For Bertha giving pups the attention they deserve during their time away from their families is one of the most important parts of the job. It can be scary and stressful to be in a new place with lots of strange dogs around. The serene and cozy home dog kennel provides a caring atmosphere for the furry friends where they can enjoy a little vacation of their own. Being around the pups all day, kennel staff get to experience all of their different personalities and all the silly things they do. It’s even better it gets captured on camera!

All fun and games aside, running a kennel is serious work!

With paperwork and administrative duties, sometimes it can be hard to get away from all the craziness and spend time with the dogs. At Kamp K9 Hawaii, spending time with guests is a top priority, so they use ProPet software to help them manage their day-to-day operations and communicate better with their customers. “It’s so much easier now to have our clients be able to reach out to us, update their information, request a reservation and pay with one system as opposed to calling, emailing and texting,” Bertha says. “ProPet Software is a one stop shop for our clients and for us as well.”

Ultimately, when running a dog kennel, it’s important to focus on what’s best for your furry guests.

A fun and relaxing atmosphere where they can play and run around, as well as lots of love and attention, will ensure a happy stay with happy pups! If you think that starting a kennel is out of your reach, think again! Take Bertha as an example. Some hard work and lots of love can go a long way. And it doesn’t hurt to have some help from friends like ProPet Software either. That way you can focus on loving and caring for every one of your furry guests!
